Back tuned and ready for fitting to sides |
This week's theme was assembly. Two necks had their heels and head stocks carved on monday, then I was able to assemble both of the guitars of the current batch.

The guitars are assembled |
Assembly is an important (obviously!) and exciting stage that marks a shift in the construction process. Before assembly, the work is about making the guitar's main parts - the back, the top, the sides and the neck. Assembly is the point when these completed components get fitted and glued together into a guitar. After this stage, there are only a few more gluings to be done - the bindings, the fingerboard and the bridge. Clean craftsmanship after assembly is vital to achieving an elegant and professional looking instrument.
